La Vie En Rose

googlehttps://plus.google.com/u/0/114005940946674524673 twitter instagram

Time indeed passes so fast especially when you're enjoying. Papa, Yuma and I decided to have an overnight stay at Star Gate Hotel Kansai which is known to be the tallest iconic landmark in South Osaka that offers stunning views and great services.

My hugest mistake is booking a flight in Osaka Kokusai Airport which is 6 to 7 hours away from Ehime Prefecture. I should have booked a flight in Kochi Ryoma Airport that is only 1 hour away from my papa's house. So right after the funeral of my ojiichan, we had to take the Nozomi 007 Shinkansen going to Osaka. Looking on the bright side, Star Gate Hotel Kansai is located conveniently close to KIX; this what makes it a good choice to stay overnight before our early flight.

A spacious room for us three with a magnificent view!

Complete toiletries!

What a great idea to jump on bed and lie down comfortably like no one's watching. You see the crumpled duvet beside it? Yes, I also did the same thing.

I just cannot stop taking pictures of the view outside our room.

Since our flight is 8 am in the morning, we opted to just stay in hotel to relax and eat.

Beautiful city lights.

That's it for my travel post in Japan! Our summer vacation indeed became very meaningful. We got to rediscover our roots and spend our short time with ojiichan who unexpectedly passed away 2 days before our departure. I would like to thank everyone who made this trip memorable and a happy one!

'Till the next blogpost!

Odaiji ni,
Au revoir!

Hello! Before going to Shimanami Bridge, I took a quick snapshot of my obaachan and my brother, Yuma. Look how the fava bean (also known as broad bean) has grown so big and healthy! I just love how eagerly my obaachan takes care of them. She even wakes up early in the morning to water her plants. My brother and I don't usually eat vegetables in Philippines. She made us try couple of her homemade salads; to my surprise, her salad was made to our liking. We literally ate salads everyday.

As planned, this day was the day to get back in track and get healthy! Time to go cycling!~

I can't help but to feel refreshed while I was cycling. It was my first time to go cycling and I haven't ridden a bike for so long. Because in Philippines, we don't frequently use bike for transportation. We'd rather commute by jeep or tricycle. However, Japanese people are said to be fond of biking. Why? Because in any neighborhood of Japan, those of the residents who cycles (often than not) can easily access supermarkets, doctors and dentists offices, or even schools in less than 10 minutes or so. Japanese people who often opt to go cycling are mostly likely near to their target location or destination. The pros of cycling is countless. Cycling does not only reduces traffic and air pollution but can also serve as a form of exercise while having fun. It makes perfect sense right?

This bridge is known as Oomishimabashi Bridge. Before passing this bridge, you will be seeing the most gorgeous Shimanami Bridge. Shimanami Kaido is a breathtaking 60 kilometer road and bridge network linking the main island of Honshu with Shikoku (the fourth largest island in Japan). It features bike and pedestrian lanes for its entire span. It was initially designed with the cyclist in mind.

What I love about cycling is that it gives you the freedom to take a moment to stop for a photo halfway across this bridge.

          There he goes again :P

This will be my second to the last post of our trip in Japan.

Stay tuned for the next post!

  Odaiji ni,
  Au revoir!

Hiya! Our 2nd day in Tokyo has finally come! We decided to go in Hachioji Kawa this time. We only spent few minutes here to take pictures since there was a news that a typhoon is coming nearby from the Philippines.

Remember this picture? Yes, it's the same picture that I've posted on my previous blog post. This is the same place where we have took the picture (from above) back in our childhood days.

                                                            (Hino Eki/Station)

Honestly, Yuma and I felt emotional leaving the place.

Time to go back home!

It's a lie if we didn't told you that we used to love Anpanman. I remember those days where I go nuts not watching it for a day. That's how I am drawn into it.

Beautiful sunset by the train. Whenever I see such creation of God, it always reminds me to be grateful. There's no doubt that this is the best time to reflect on your life.

We're back in Ehime!

Apparently, I ate the same dish for my breakfast. Yes, it's salmon. Salmon is probably my favorite food for now. But why will you not order kakigori especially when the print media advertising of it is so tempting!

I just realized that Yuma and I looked like we're advertising the kakigori. At the end, our dad ended up ordering two same flavors which is strawberry topped with a syrup and a sweetener.

The best feature of an arcade game (in my opinion) is none other than....
Stuffed toys! I was opting to get a sushi stuffed toy. But after 1 try, I knew that I had to give up. If not, I'll end up using all of my 100 yen instead of buying sweets or drinks on a vending machine.

As you can see, he got one of the one piece character's figurine. And there he goes again, after countless of tries he still hasn't give up on it. This is what I call the depression stage.

Here I am, as a good ate/oneechan, telling him to stop because he used all of his coins and what-not.

For our lunch, we decided to go in the food court. You don't have to wait on the counter for your order. Instead, they give you a beeper. Once it vibrates and rings, that's the time that you have to go in the counter and pick-up whatever you have ordered.

Pasalubong Ideas!

The best beauty products and cosmetics are found in Japan. The quality of the product is the best! Price may vary depending on what brand you want. Some of the good brands include Shiseido, Shu Uemura and Hada Labo.

Another perfect souvenir or pasalubong is these socks! I bought this in Shibuya 109. Per 3 socks you buy, it will only cost you 1000 yen. I advise you to canvass on other stores first, before buying anything you want/need. But in my case, this is the greatest deal.

A key chain is also a popular souvenir. There are myriad of designs to choose from. I forgot the name of the store but it's somewhere on the left side of Takeshita Street in Harajuku. According from the store owner, if you buy 6 or more key chains, you get to have 1 pair of chopstick with your name on it. How cool is that?

Backpack is a must for every girls out there. This cutesy bag is also from Harajuku. It costs around 2600 Yen. The size is not too small and not too big. Plus the design is classy too!

'Till the next blog post!

Odaiji ni,

Au revoir!
