Japan 2015: Tokyo Day 1

by - 1:25 AM

Yuma, Papa and I arrived in Tokyo on May 10 at 9:10 pm. Like the Chinese, Japanese people are very particular in time. We were supposed to arrive in Tokyo at exactly 9:00 pm. We were bound to Tokyo on time however, there was a train accident happened near this city. It's a good thing that the accident was only minor.

About to head at Tachikawa Grand Hotel.

Day 1 in Tokyo

On our first day in Tokyo, we went to Shibuya, Harajuku, Akihabara, Shinjuku, and Ikebukuro transporting through trains. Yes, we went to those places all in one day.The train stations in Japan are easily accessible most especially in Tokyo. Fare rates are not that expensive considering the fact that trains in Japan are fast and convenient. On the other hand, the shinkansen fare rates are very expensive. The good side is you can get a JR Pass if you meet these two conditions:

a.) You are a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for sight-seeing, under the entry status of "temporary visitor."
b.) You are a Japanese national living outside of Japan.

It was so uncomfortably chilly from the moment that we stepped out of the hotel. It felt like the pieces of clothes that I wore during morning was too thin. As you can see from the pictures above, almost all of the crowd are wearing long sleeves. On the other note, I successfully finished every food on this tray. What I asked for my order is the following: freshly cooked salmon, miso soup, full bowl of rice and daikon side dish. All these mouth watering foods are found in Cafe Gasuto. Every food on their menu tells on how much calories you intake. This is a plus point for people who are bothered by the kcal he/she gets.

Shibuya 109 or known as ichi-maru-kyu is a popular department store in Japan. This is where you can find trendy fashion styles from accessories, clothes, shoes- you name it. It's every girl's dream to go to.

ARASHI <3

 Heading to Harajuku!

If you buy more than 7 key chains, you get 1 pair of chopsticks for free with your name on it!

Their fashion is on point. ;)

Apparently, the girl at the back (whose wearing a cosplay costume) got more attention than us. I should have worn one I guess.

Akihabara

Tempura Cold Udon at its best!

At the afternoon, we had a schedule to meet with Rao chan in our hometown, Hino, Tokyo. The first 5 minutes was spent via trying to break down the awkwardness of wall since we haven't seen each other for 6 years but we successfully did! We decided to take a stroll going to the park and went to our friends' house.

It's always nice to be back in our elementary school. I just wished that we had the chance to meet with our other friends. Unfortunately, because of our limited time in Tokyo, we didn't had the chance to meet them. Looking on the brighter side, Yuma and I can come to Japan anytime that we want. I'm looking forward to our next trip!

Odaiji ni,
Au revoir!
